Taco Sauce - Vegan

  1/4 cup tomato sauce     
  1/3 cup water  
  1 teaspoon chili powder    
  1/2 teaspoon cumin     
  1/2 teaspoon oregano                       
  salt & freshly ground pepper -- to taste                        
  hot sauce -- to taste 
  1 teaspoon ketchup -- (optional)
  
  Whisk ingredients from tomato sauce through oregano together  in a small saucepan and cook over low heat for 5 minutes. Taste, adding salt, black pepper, and hot sauce as desired.If the sauce is too acidic, add a little ketchup.
  
  Makes 1/3 cup (5 one-tablespoon servings)
  
  Per serving (one tablespoon): 4 cals (23% fat cals); 0.1g fat; 0.7g carbs; 0g sugars; 0g fiber; 0.2g protein.
  
  Author Note: This is my "secret sauce" for tacos and burritos. It really adds a little something extra and it's effortless to make.
