It's so easy to make hummus at home, once you try this Lemony-Lime
Hummus you'll never buy store-bought again! If you are going to use
the zest of a citrus fruit it is important that you buy organic, since
the outside peel houses most of the pesticides. Chickpeas and lemons
have so many health benefits that this makes the perfect snack for
you and your family any time of day.
Lemon and limes are actually alkalizing in the body and act as a tonic
for the liver and digestive tract. Try having a small cup of hot water
and lemon before a meal to help with digestion, nausea, or constipation.
2 cans organic garbanzos
1 garlic clove (optional)
1/4 cup organic olive oil
1 organic lemon & lime, zested and juiced
1 tsp organic coriander
1 tsp organic cumin
1 tsp organic chili powder
1 Tbsp organic apple cider vinegar
2 Tbsp organic tahini (roasted kind for richer flavor)
Pinch of black pepper
Sea salt to taste
